Shirley Verrett, one of opera’s greatest singers, passes away

Shirley Verrett, a critically acclaimed opera singer, has died. She was 79. Reportedly, Shirley Verrett died of heart failure. According to her daughter, she was ill for past few months. The news of her death was released by Metropolitan Opera Guide.
